It all started as an act of good will - I wanted to sit down with some monks we met and talk English for them to practice. They had to go to eat/read/wash-the-dishes at the time of our visit, so we agreed to meet again the next day at their temple. Next day I went back there, and discovered they have a full-day initiation ceremonies for new monks (young and old). The English lessons never happened, but I got to see a very colorful initiation day at the temple.

New monks initiation
