The Arctic Center is situated just next to Christchurch Airport. I cycled there from Gary's home, 20 min away. The center display many items used my arctic missions (Chirstchurch is some 3,000km away from the South pole, second close place to depart after South America's southern tip). The display, the stories, movies and other mean of demonstration - like a room simulating a stormy day onthe Arctic - really gives a feeling of the life and scientific activity being done in the Arctic.If you've walked enough down the streets of Christchurch downdown, and seen the museums, this place is a natural place to stop as well.
