The decision to move on to the Philippines was pretty random. We just said one day that it's time to move on and put our finger on the Philippines in our guidebook. As we were about to land in Manila, the weather was pretty rough, with strong winds and heavy rain. That was pretty unusual compared with the weather in Vietnam.When we asked the guard at the hotel steps if the weather is like this all the time around here now, he replied: "Typhoon, Typhoon". You can imagine how disappointed we were when we discover that we just missed Typhoon Sepat that roamed around the Philippines the previous week.
