U bein's bridge

Today I got more convinced in my travelling motto (well, two of them): 1. You never plan the best parts of the trip, they just happen to you and only if you let them creep into your plans and mess them up. 2. There is always a reason why most of the tourists arrive at certain places and certain times, but its not a good reason at all.
Today we hired bicycles and took ourselves south of Mandalay with not too stricked plans. On the way it rained (that reminded us why most tourists do not visit Burma at this time of the year), but thanks to that, we got to see the most beautiful views of U Bein's bridge. A bridge that on a very sunny day would be "just" pretty bridge, not that pretty as this photo picked it up. The rest of this unplanned day went just better and better, with amazing views of local fishermen catching fish in the river with their bare hands, and a most delightful time we spend with some really great kids at a temple just along the way (where we stopped - of course - by complete chance).
