A1GP race in Taupo

Never in my life did I go to a car race. I hardly look at it on TV. Still, on the days I stayed in Taupo, the biggest happening in the city was the A1GP international car race. I hardly ound a place to sleep the night because people from all over NZ came to watch it. So, I went.

It was a very hot day. Strong sun in a blue sky. And it was very exciting. Jonny Reid and his race car Black Beauty were (of course) the faveorites. Junny did very well on the previous runs, but when I watched he paused for more than a second on the start and was the 12th car on the first round. From this low point he gave great fight, finishing the round at #4 and getting the first place in the overall race. The crowds were delighted and even I felt a little bit of National (?) pride.
